Identity Theft Leads To Arrest of Ellendale Woman

Milford – Milford Police conducted a identity theft investigation in December of 2016 that lead to an arrest of an Ellendale woman, according to Milford Police Spokesman Sgt. Robert Masten.
Masten said that on January 28, 2017 Milford Police arrested Rita Brisco, 59 of Ellendale, after warrants were obtained following the investigation.
Investigation revealed Ms. Brisco obtained a debit card from the victim at the Silver Lake Estates apartment complex in December, according to Masten.
Masten said that Brisco reportedly made several purchases prior to the victim realizing it was missing. Brisco was located by Milton Police and turned over to Milford Police on January 28, 2017, said Masten. She has been charged with Identity Theft, Theft Under $1500.00, and four counts of Unlawful Use of Payment Card Under $1500.
Brisco was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $2500.00 unsecured. Ms. Brisco is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 02.03.2017 for a Preliminary Hearing.
