New Castle Gas Station Robbed At Knifepoint

New Castle – Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a New Castle area Shell gas station that occurred this morning, according to State Police Director of Public Information Sergeant Richard D. Bratz

Bratz said that The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 7:47 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2016, as a male suspect entered the Shell Gas Station and Food Mart located at 299 Christiana Road, New Castle.

The suspect confronted the clerk who was standing behind the sales counter demanding money from the cash registers, said Bratz. The suspect implied that he was armed, however, a weapon was not displayed, according to Bratz. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. The suspect then exited the business and fled in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a black male. He was 5’10”-6’00” tall, weighed 160-200 lbs., and was last seen wearing dark clothing and had a mask covering his face. There is no further physical or clothing description available.
