Second Wilmington Shooting On Sunday, Both Victims Shot In The Leg

Wilmington – Wilmington Police (WPD) officers are investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon, according to authorities.

Officials said that at approximately 1:14 p.m. this afternoon, Sunday, January 29, 2017 Wilmington Police officers responded to the 2900 block of N. Claymont Street in reference to a shooting Investigation.

Arriving officers found a 47-year-old male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital in stable condition, according to police.

The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation. Anyone who may have information relative to this investigation is asked to call Detective William Ball at 302-576-3620.

In a unrelated shooting earlier this morning a 70-year-old man was shot in the leg during a botched robbery, according to police
