Fire Inside Macy’s At Concord Mall

 

Wilmington – The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a Thursday, February 16, 2017, fire that damaged a Wilmington, Delaware shopping mall, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio.

The blaze, reported shortly after 3:00 pm, occurred at the Macy’s Department Store located in the Concord Mall on the Concord Pike. The Talleyville Fire Company responded to the fire along with several neighboring fire companies.

The fire was suppressed by the building’s sprinkler system. The majority of the fire damage occurred to a clothing storage area off of the main sales floor. Smoke filtered throughout the store.

State fire are  investigating the origin and cause of this fire.

Fire damage was estimated at $150,000. There were no reported injuries.
