Man Wanted By State Police Arrested In Laurel

Update: Laurel – State Police have arrested Stephon R. Jackson, 18 of Seaford, after a brief pursuit in the Concord area, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary Fournier.

Fournier said that Jackson was apprehended by the Troop 5 Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) team around 5:00 p.m. Thursday February 23, 2017 while he was riding a motorcycle on Henry Drive east of Seaford.

Upon locating Jackson, he attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly taken into custody without further incident, according to Fournier. A computer check of the motorcycle revealed it was stolen from the Seaford area, Fournier said.

Stephon Jackson was transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited as well as the two new charges of Receiving Stolen Property and Resisting Arrest.  He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $22,000.00 cash bond.

Jackson, 18 of Seaford, who is currently wanted for two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, according to State Police Detectives Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary Fournier

Fournier said that Jackson is wanted in connection with firing several rounds from an unknown type handgun towards an apartment building in the Wexford Village Development, Sunday January 29, 2017, around 3:45 p.m.

It’s unclear if Jackson is being sought in connection with the shooting death that occurred at this location as earlier reported.
