Man Shot In The Head Avoids Serious Injury

Wilmington – On Sunday March 12, 2017 at approximately 5:45 p.m, Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 1000 block of W. 7th Street in reference to a Shot Spotter notification of gunfire.

Arriving officers were directed to a residence located in the 1000 block of W. 7th Street where a 35-year-old male victim was located. The victim was found to be suffering from a graze wound to his head.

The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room in good condition. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Anyone with information relative to this investigation is asked to call Detective William Ball at 302-576-3631.
