Elkton – On Sunday two lanes on I-95 NB were closed at mile marker 107 in Cecil County due to a serious accident. Two people were killed in a the crash involving a vehicle that fled from MDTA police.

Woman Stuck In The Traffic Play By Play

Just after 11 am a chase began as police tried to stop a stolen vehicle near the Fort McHenry Tunnel, according to authorities.  Police said that the driver of the vehicle refused to stop, leading police through three different Maryland counties, Baltimore, Harford and Cecil Counties .

The driver of the vehicle lost control less than two mile from the Delaware/Maryland State Line, and left the roadway at Big Elk Creek, according to officials.

Authorities said the the driver and a passenger were both killed in the crash. At last update 3:22 p.m police were still investigating and traffic was at a crawl.

There is a serious crash on Route 95 North between Route 213 and Route 279, according to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Department.

Reports from the scene indicate that the crash happened as a result of a police pursuit. One vehicle down the embankment with two dead.

Heavy traffic in both directions.
