Newark – On Friday March 10, 2017 at approximately 9:37 p.m. the Newark Police responded to the Exxon located in the 800 block of South College Avenue for a report of an attempted theft, according to Police.
Authorities said that an employee stated that a customer came in and asked for change of $2. As the employee opened the cash register the unknown suspect reached over the counter and attempted to grab money out of the register, officials said.
The employee grabbed the suspect’s arm and the suspect backed off. The suspect then left the store and remarked that it was only a joke, according to police. The suspect was last seen walking south bound on South College Avenue.
Suspect 1- black male, 20-25 years old, approximately 5’09”, thin build, beard, wearing black jeans and a black hooded shirt covering his head.
