Man Shot In Back This Morning Makes It 51 For Wilmington

Wilmington – This morning, Sunday April 2, 2017,  just before 10 am, Wilmington Police Officer’s were notified of a 28-year-old man walked into the Wilmington Hospital Emergency Room suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his back and left arm areas, according to police.

Officials said that the preliminary investigation indicated that the victim was walking in the 500 block of W. 7th Street when he heard gunfire and realized that he had been struck and responded to the hospital for medical treatment.

The victim is in stable condition. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing. Anyone with information relative to this investigation is asked to call Detective R. Flores at 302-576-3620.

This incident is the 51st shooting that has taken place in Wilmington since the beginning of the year.
