Bear – Several State Police Troopers were dispatched to William A. Oberle, Jr. Elementary School this morning, at around 9:30 a.m. for reports of a domestic dispute. Troopers responded as State Police 911 dispatchers were receiving multiple calls from the the school.
Reports indicate that a noncustodial parent was trying to pick up their child from the school and the incident became heated. At around 10:30 a.m. the incident appeared to be over as troopers were observed outside the school’s entrance wrapping the incident up.
There was an incident at the school involving a family dispute, which involved two family members. The 911 hangup call may have come from one of those individuals when the individual attempted to contact 911, according to Wendy Lapham, Public Information Officer For The Christina School District.
The school contacted the police using the panic button when school staff felt they needed additional assistance. The issue was resolved by police and did not affect students or staff, or interfere with the school day, added Lapham.
The school is located at 500 Caledonia Way in Bear.
