Newark – Newark Police Department is investigating a harassment complaint that occurred on Wednesday April 13, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m, according to Lieutenant Fred Nelson.
Nelson said the victim, an 18-year-old University of Delaware student, reported that she was walking on Wyoming Road in the area of S. Chapel Street when she noticed a vehicle, described as a small maroon sports utility vehicle, that appeared to be following her.
The victim stated the vehicle parked on the side of Wyoming Road and the driver began to yell vulgarities at her. The victim stated that she then walked to the front of a University of Delaware dormitory and noticed the suspect was now following her on foot.
The victim was able to enter the dormitory without further incident. Officers from the University of Delaware Police and Newark Police searched the area for the suspect and suspect vehicle with negative results.
Suspect description: Hispanic male, wearing a baseball hat, gray pants, and a white shirt. No further description is available at this time.

Newark – The University of Delaware Police sent out an alert to students and staff alerting them to a suspicious man that was following a student early this morning.
The Newark and University Police are investigating the report of a suspicious male.
He was seen operating a maroon SUV on Wyoming Rd., and followed a female student to the area of Gilbert Hall.
He then exited the vehicle and continued following her on foot. He is described as a white male, wearing blue jeans and a long sleeved white shirt, with a black hat turned backwards. Members of our community are reminded to be vigilant.
