On Saturday, May 13, 2017 at approximately 10:54 AM, Wilmington Police Officer’s responded to the PNC Bank located at 1009 N. Union Street in reference to a bank robbery investigation, according to authorities.
Officials said the investigation indicated that an unknown male suspect entered the bank, approached a bank teller and presented a note demanding money. The bank teller complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of many.
The suspect is described as a black male, mid to late 30’s in age, approximately 5’08-6’0 feet in height, with a medium build, and wearing a brown in color jacket, black shirt, and blue jeans. The suspect fled the bank on foot and was last observed southbound on N. Union Street out of sight, according to officials.
The Wilmington Police Criminal Investigations Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Citizens are asked to call Detective Charles Puit at 302-576-3628, or 302-932-8253. Information may also be left on Delaware Crime Stoppers Tipline at 1-800-TIP-3333, where information received may lead to a reward. Tips may also be TEXT to NIXLE at 888777. Additionally, PNC Bank is also offering a reward for information received leading to the identification or arrest of the suspect.
