Elkton Man Charged With Indecent Exposure After Main Street Incidents

Rehman R. Ahmed

Newark – On Tuesday May 29, 2017 Newark Police Department arrested Rehman R. Ahmed for two separate incidents where he was observed masturbating in public, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said on Friday May 26, 2017, at 8:21 p.m. officers responded to the area of W. Main Street and N. College Avenue for an indecent exposure complaint. The victim, a 19-year-old female University of Delaware student, reported that she was walking in the area when she observed a male masturbating inside of a silver vehicle parked along the street, according to Nelson.

Officers checking the area located a silver Hyundai Sonata, occupied by Ahmed. Officers subsequently learned that the same vehicle description was provided in a separate incident that occurred on March 18, 2017, said Neslon.

During that incident, two victims (a 20-year-old female University of Delaware student and a 20-year-old female non-student), observed a male standing outside of a silver Hyundai Sonata in the area of 102 E. Main Street at 12:58 a.m., according to Nelson. They stated that this subject yelled to get their attention and they then noticed that he was masturbating, added Nelson.

Officers were able to link Ahmed to both incidents through additional investigation and obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to Nelson. Ahmed was arrested on May 29, 2017 and video arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 11. He was given $800 unsecured bond and released.

He was charged with Lewdness (2 counts), Indecent Exposure (3 counts) and Driving While Suspended.
