Newark Spring Concert Series Lineup Announced

Newark, DE – Recognizing music is a language that speaks to everyone, the City of Newark Parks & Recreation Department spring concert series will explore culture and creativity through a diverse selection of music as it kicks off this month. The concert series, in combination with Newark’s Youth Got Talent, will be held each Thursday through June. Youth will take the stage from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m., followed by a spring concert from 7 until 8 p.m. on the Academy Building Lawn.

Here is the full schedule for the spring concert series:
5/4 – Blahmoh Doe (African Drum)
5/11 – Twice Daily (Irish)
5/18 – Meeta Gajjar Parker (Indian)
5/25 – E. Shawn Qaissaunee (Afghan Jazz)
6/1 – Paul Cullen (Latin Eclectic Acoustic)
6/8 – Polkadelphia (German & Polish Polka)
6/15 – The Juveniles (American Rock & Roll)
6/22 – Tahira (Stories & Music from Ghana)
Here is the current line-up for the Youth Got Talent Series:
5/11 – Jessica Belle (singer/songwriter)
5/25 – Grace Walton (variety)
6/1 – Caitlin Marsilii (singer/songwriter)

There are still available spots for the Youth Got Talent series. Musicians and performers, ages six and over, who are interested in performing should call (302) 366-7000 or email parksrec@newark.de.us to apply.

Parking fees are in effect downtown during the concerts. Please call the Leisure Time Hotline at 366-7147 on rainy days for more information.
