New Castle – New Castle County Police (NCCPD) Mobil Enforcement Team have arrested 39-year-old Maurice Ross for drug related charges in the community of Rosegate, according to NCCPD Spokeswoman Heather Carter.
Carter said Monday June 27, 2017 New Castle County Police Mobil Enforcement Team were conducting proactive patrol in the community of Rosegate. Officers observed a traffic violation and stopped a blue Chevrolet sedan in the unit block of Thorn Lane. Police made contact with the driver Maurice Ross, of the 1300 block of N French Street, and allegedly detected the evidence of illegal drugs in the vehicle, according to Carter. Officers conducted a search of the sedan and located 40grams of PCP, and 2.1 grams of crack cocaine.
Maurice Ross was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of PCP in a Tier- 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver PCP in a Tier-4 quantity, possession of crack cocaine while operating a vehicle, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and driving without insurance.
Maurice Ross was arraigned and issued a $52,500 secured bail and a no contact order with the community of Rosegate. Maurice Ross was released after posting his bond.
