Reward Offered For Driver Who Ran Over Service Dog

Elkton, Md. – The Elkton Police Department (EPD) needs your help in identifying the suspect that killed a family’s dog, according to a Cecil County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

The post stated that at approximately midnight on May 30, 2017, EPD responded to the 100 block of Mike Court in reference to a deceased animal.

Investigation revealed that a dark colored newer model car with a box style shape was driving recklessly in the area of Katie Lane. A homeowner made contact with the driver by telling the driver to slow down. The driver responded by backing up and then driving toward’s the homeowner’s dog. The vehicle struck the dog and dragged it a considerable length before the dog was freed, according to the post. The dog did not survive being struck.
