Serious Accident Brings Route 1 SB To A Crawl

Odessa – Just after 11:00 a.m. this morning rescue crews from Odessa, Middleton and Port Penn, along with Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to Route 1 SB at Drawyer Creek Bridge for a report of an injury accident.

Arriving crews found at least one vehicle with heavy damage and five patients with injuries, one serious.  The most seriously injured patient was airlifted to Christiana Hospital in Stanton with unknown injuries.

Traffic was stopped for some time. Traffic remains backed-up to the C & D Canal as Delaware State Police investigate the crash.
