Update: Shots Fired At Popular Newark Watering Hole, Suspect Arrested

Newark – The Delaware State Police have arrested Christopher J. Caccavone, 26 of Newark, and charged him with Reckless Endangering 1st degree, according to police.

Caccavone was wanted in connection with an alleged incident that occurred on Monday, June 19, 2017, after he fired multiple shots during a physical altercation at the Rackers Bar & Billiards located at 1232 Capitol Trail, Newark, according to police.

On July 20, 2017 Christopher J. Caccavone was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was released on a $5,000.00 unsecured bond.

Newark – State Police are requesting assistance in locating Christopher J. Caccavone, 26 of Newark, who is wanted for Reckless Endanger 1st Degree. He may be in the Newark or Hockessin area, according to police.

Officials say Caccavone is wanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Monday, June 19, 2017, after a 33-year-old Newark man had a verbal argument with another patron at the Rackers Bar & Billiards located at 1232 Capitol Trail, Newark.

The incident turned physical after the suspect displayed an unknown make and model handgun. The victim struck the suspect which knocked him to the ground. It was at this time another patron grabbed the victim and forced him out the door of the bar. The suspect then fired multiple shots as he fled the area, according to police. The male victim was not injured and could not provide any further information. No other injuries were reported.

Christopher J. Caccavone is a white male with a thin build, approximately 5’08” tall and may have a short haircut. He possibly fled in a silver Honda Civic.

Police did not indicate what led them to believe Caccavone is responsible for the incident.

Newark– The Delaware State Police is investigating an incident in which a Newark man was shot at last night at a local area bar east of Newark, according to Director of Public Information Sergeant Richard Bratz.

Bratz said the preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. last night, Monday, June 19, 2017, as a 33-year-old Newark man had a verbal argument with another patron at the Rackers Bar & Billiards located at 1232 Capitol Trail in Newark.

The incident turned physical after the suspect displayed an unknown make and model handgun, according to Bratz. The victim struck the suspect which knocked him to the ground. It was at this time another patron grabbed the victim and forced him out the door of the bar. The suspect then fired multiple shots as he fled the area, said Bratz. The male victim was not injured and could not provide any further information. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 20-30 years old and possibly fled in a silver Honda Civic.
