New Castle County Police (NCCPD) have concluded their investigation into a shooting in the community of Georgetown Apartments with the arrest of 22-year-old Clement Taylor, according to NCCPD Spokesman JP Piser.
Piser said last night, detectives continued an investigation into two people shot in a vehicle while parked in Georgetown Apartments. Police learned that the vehicle was occupied by an 18-year-old female driver and a front seat passenger, identified as Clement Taylor. Detectives determined that Clement Taylor was handling a firearm in the front seat when he shot the handgun, according to Piser. The bullet penetrated Clement Taylor’s hand and then proceeded to strike the driver’s thigh.
Upon a search of the area, as well as an apartment in the complex, detectives recovered a firearm, ammunition, and further evidence implicating Clement Taylor in the shooting, said Piser.
Clement Taylor, of the 100 block of Freedom Trail, was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangering, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and providing false statements to law enforcement with the intent to hinder the investigation of a felony. He was arraigned and committed to Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $1,500 secured bail.
