Milford – On July 23, 2017 at approximately 6:45 pm, officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to Walmart on North DuPont Boulevard (US Rt 113) to a report of a fraudulent return of shoplifted merchandise, according to Milford Police Spokesman Robert Masten.
Masten said the investigation allegedly revealed that a man and women removed several items from the store without paying for them and later returned the items with old receipts in exchange for a gift card and money. Store staff became suspicious of this transaction and notified police, said Masten. Pamela D. Wallick, 36 of Milford, and Jesse L. Smith, 29 of Harbeson, were both taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Ms. Wallick has been charged with Shoplifting, Use of Illegitimate Retail Sales Receipt, Theft By False Promise, and Conspiracy 3rd Degree. Ms. Wallick was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7 where bail was set at $4000.00 unsecured, along with a no contact order with Walmart.
Mr. Smith has been charged with Shoplifting, Use of Illegitimate Retail Sales Receipt, Theft By False Promise, and Conspiracy 3rd Degree. Mr. Smith was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7 where bail was set at $4000.00 unsecured, along with a no contact order with Walmart. The pair are scheduled for arraignments in August in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
