Authorities Update Route 13 Crash From This Morning

Odessa – At approximately 8:25 pm  this morning, New Castle County Paramedics and Odessa Fire Company were dispatched to the 3000 block of Dupont Parkway near Odessa Heights for a motor vehicle crash, according to New Castle County Paramedics Spokeswoman Yvonne Russell.

Russell said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a single vehicle crash with one patient. The patient, 22-year-old male, was found to have injuries to his head.

The patient was treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital via Odessa Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.

Update 1 – Patient has been extricated from the vehicle

Update 2 – Crews have alerted Trooper 4 that they will be utilized and both directions of traffic will be shut down.

Update 3 – Odessa Command has has canceled Trooper 4, Patient will be transported by ground. Route 13 SB remains closed.

Update 4 – Odessa Command has been terminated. Road reopened.

Odessa – Rescue crews from the Odessa Fire Company have responded to the 3000 block of DuPont Parkway for a single vehicle accident with injuries.

Crews are currently working to gain access to the patient and have called for the road to be closed.

Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) has been alerted and is heading to the scene.
