Police: Man Points Gun At His Neighbor Near Elkton Road, Arrested

C. Dawson

Newark – On Saturday 8/25/17 Newark Police Department (NPD) Officers responded to the unit block of O’Daniel Avenue for a report of an argument between neighbors, according to NPD Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said upon arrival the victim, a 33-year-old male, reported that Craig Dawson 64, of Newark, pointed a handgun at his face after the two argued about the victim being loud. A witness also confirmed the victim’s account of the events, said Nelson.

Officers subsequently recovered a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver in the suspect’s apartment, according to Nelson. Dawson was arrested and transported to the Newark Police Department. He was video arraigned in front of Justice of the Peace Court 11 and issued $6,000 secured bond. Dawson was later released on bond.

Dawson has been charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony and Aggravated Menacing, according to Nelson
