Wilmington Man Arrested After Suburban Plaza Shoplifting Incident

Newark – On Thursday 8/10/17 at approximately 3:56 p.m. Newark Police Department conducted a shoplifting investigation at Walgreens, 216 Suburban Drive. An employee reported a subject, later identified as Nicholas Biordi, 37, of Wilmington, left the business without paying for several items, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the employee provided a description of Biordi and stated that he had entered a nearby store, Plato’s Closet. An officer subsequently located Biordi inside of the store and arrested him.

Officers subsequently located two stolen razors, valued at $69.98, in Biordi’s vehicle, according to Nelson. Biordi was issued a summons for the shoplifting offense and was committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution on $1,000 cash bond and $1,000 secured bond due to having several outstanding capiases, added Nelson.
