Milford – On Thursday August 31, 2017 at approximately 10:44 pm an officer from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division, who was parked, observed a vehicle travel past westbound on Northwest 10th Street towards North DuPont Blvd (US Rt 113), according to Sgt. Robert Masten.
Masten said the officer noticed a strong smell of what he believed to be marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer attempted to stop the 2008 Cadillac, but the operator failed to comply and led the officer on a pursuit that traveled onto Airport Road and towards a construction barrier for a road closure, according to Masten.
The 2008 Cadillac then proceeded to turn around at the barrier and head back to North DuPont Blvd (US Rt 113) and proceed southbound at a high rate of speed. The officer was able to get the 2008 Cadillac to stop on South DuPont Blvd (US Rt 113) in the area of Old Shawnee Road (SR 36).
Masten said just prior to the vehicle stopping, it traveled at a high rate of speed by Delaware Department of Transportation personnel working on US Rt 113. Following the vehicle being stopped Damal J. Moore, 31 of Harrington, was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle resulted in 5.3 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia being seized, according to Masten.
