Police: Man Puts Gun To Victim’s Head During Robbery, Two Arrested

New Castle – Delaware State Police have arrested two people and have charged them in connection with a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of a New Castle area motel, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the investigation revealed that on Thursday September 28th, 2017 at approximately 3:17 p.m. a 35-year-old male was seated in his vehicle which was parked in the lot of the Crown Motel located at 152 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle. As he was seated in the vehicle he was approached at his drivers side window by a white female later identified as Deserie Henry 32, of New Castle. After a few moments a white male later identified as Robert A. Wilson, 25 of Hartly joined Henry at the victims vehicle, said Austin.

Wilson then displayed a black handgun, held it to the victim’s head and demanded property, said Austin.The victim complied with Wilson’s demand, surrendering his wallet which contained an undisclosed amount of money along with his cell-phone. After obtaining the property both Wilson and Henry fled on foot towards the Airport Plaza Shopping Center, added Austin. The victim sustained no injuries as a result of the altercation.

A probation officer who happened to be in the area was flagged down by the victim and advised of what had occurred. The probation officer then contacted State Police dispatch and provided information as to Wilson and Henry’s direction of travel and current location. A State Trooper out of Troop 2 responded to the area and was able to take both Wilson and Henry into custody without incident.

A search of the area resulted in the recovery of the victims property along with a black pellet gun which resembled a semi-automatic handgun, said Austin

Both Wilson and Henry were transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2 where they were arrested and charged with one count each of Robbery 1st Degree and Conspiracy 2nd degree.

Robert A. Wilson was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and then committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $62,100 secured bail.

Deserie Henry was arraigned at the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas before being committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in lieu of $27,500 secured bail.
