Three Shot In Less Than 7 Hours Yesterday, One Sitting On Front Steps

Wilmington – On Monday, 18 September 2017, at approximately 12:24 pm, SHOT SPOTTER alerted to several rounds of gun fire in the 1000 block of N. Spruce Street, according to police.

Officials said that as Wilmington Police units arrived on the scene they located a 23-year-old male victim, who sustained a single gun shot wound to his right arm.

The male victim was treated at the scene by New Castle County paramedics then he was transported to the Christiana Hospital where is currently listed in stable condition.

 

Just over 6 hours later at approximately 8:11 pm, Wilmington Police were  summoned to the 800 block of N. Pine Street with regard to a SHOT SPOTTER notification, according to police.

Upon the officers arrival, they conducted an area canvas, however, met with negative results.  At approximately 8:26 pm, Wilmington Police, who were at the Wilmington Hospital on an unrelated investigation were advised of a shooting victim, who had walked in.

The shooting victim is an 18-year-old male, who indicated that while in the area of E. 10th and N. Pine Street, he heard a gun shot then felt pain in his leg.  The victim did sustain a single gun shot wound to his right ankle.  He was treated my medical personnel and is listed in stable condition.

While at the Wilmington Hospital, Wilmington Police were approached by a second victim, a 48-year-old male, who indicated to police that he had been struck by a ricochet bullet as he was sitting on his front steps of his dwelling, located in the 900 block of N. Pine Street.

The second victim was treated by medical personnel for a gun shot wound to the right side of his torso and is listed in stable condition.
