Update: Multiple Accidents, Six Injured In Three Separate Accidents

Incident 1: At approximately 5:45 pm yesterday, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCP), Claymont, Brandywine Hundred, and Talleyville Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of Philadelphia Pike and Cauffiel Parkway in Wilmington for a motor vehicle crash with report of entrapment, according to NCCPD Spokeswoman Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell.

Upon arrival New Castle County Paramedics found three patients. The first patient, 26 year old male, was confined to his vehicle for approximately 10 minutes. The patient was rescued by Claymont Fire Company personnel and found to have injuries to his pelvis, shoulder and head. The patient was transported to Wilmington Hospital via Claymont Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

The second patient, 74-year-old male, was found in care of emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) from Brandywine Hundred Fire Company. The patient suffered injuries to his face and arm. The patient was transported to Wilmington Hospital via Brandywine Hundred Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.

The third patient was transported to Wilmington Hospital in care of emergency medical technicians from Talleyville Fire Company.

Incident 2: At approximately 6:35 pm New Castle County Paramedics, Claymont and Talleyville Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of Naamans Road and Tri State Mall for a motor vehicle crash.

Russell said upon arrival New Castle County Paramedics found 2 patients. The first patient, 62-year-old female, was confined to her vehicle in care of personnel from Claymont and Talleyville Fire Companies. The patient was removed from her vehicle after 10 minutes. The patient suffered injuries to her abdomen. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Claymont Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

The second patient was in care of emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) from Talleyville Fire Company. The patient was transported to Wilmington Hospital in stable condition.

Incident 3: At approximately 7:00 pm New Castle County Paramedics and Mill Creek Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Kirkwood Highway and Woodmill Drive for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist.

Russell said upon arrival New Castle County Paramedics found the patient, 21 year old male, in care of emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) from Mill Creek Fire Company. The patient suffered injuries to his arms and back. The patient was safely helmeted. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police are investigating all three incidents.
