Gathering Of Over 150 People Ends With Two Stabbed

Greenwood- Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit detectives are currently investigating a stabbing that occurred at a residence in Greenwood early this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the initial investigation began on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at approximately 2:38 a.m., after troopers responded to the 5800 block on Druccs Way in Greenwood, for the report of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, troopers located a 20-year-old male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds to his upper torso. The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital where he is currently admitted with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

While on scene, troopers were advised of a second 20-year-old male victim who had already been transported by a private vehicle to a separate hospital. The second victim suffered a stab wound to his lower torso and is currently admitted with apparent non-life-threatening injuries, said Jaffe.

Initial investigation revealed that there was a large outdoor party with over 150 people in attendance. A large fight ensued in which the two victims had been stabbed, according to Jaffe. This incident remains under investigation and information is still being gathered in attempts to determine if suspects can be identified.
