Newark – On Saturday 10/14/17 at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Newark Police Department responded to a residence in the 800 block of Dallam Road, Newark for a reported stabbing, according to Lieutenant Fred Nelson.
Nelson said the victim, a 28-year-old male who was visiting the residence, reported that he was stabbed in the chest several times by a female who was identified as Carolyn s. Pemberton, 26, of Newark. The victim reported that he was stabbed for an unknown reason while seated on the couch. During a subsequent search of the residence, detectives located a knife with a three inch blade that was believed to have been used during the stabbing, said Nelson.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was subsequently released from the hospital on 10/15/17. Pemberton was treated and released from Christiana Hospital for minor injuries sustained during the incident. She was then transported to the Newark Police Department and arrested.
Pemberton was video arraigned in front of Justice of the Peace Court 11, given $50,000 secured bail, and later committed to the Baylor’s Women’s Correctional Institute.
Pemberton has been charged with Assault 1st Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony.
