Two Robbed Walking Down The Street In Newark


Newark – The Newark Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on 10/26/2017 at approximately 9:20 p.m. on the sidewalk of Tyre Avenue, just south of E. Main Street, according to police. Officials said the victim, a 21- year-old male from Newark, reported that he and a female acquaintance were walking on Tyre Avenue when they were approached by the two suspects.

The suspects demanded the victim’s wallet and cellphone, which he turned over, officials said. The suspects then walked southbound on Tyre Avenue and fled the area in a silver/gray car. The victim and his acquaintance were not injured as a result of this incident and no weapon was displayed.

Both suspects were described as black males, 20 – 30 years old, thin build, wearing dark pants. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a light gray sweatshirt.
