Update: Police Release More Details About Yesterday’s Bank Robbery Inside Newark ACME

Newark –  The Newark Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on 10/4/2017 at approximately 3:45 pm at the Citizens Bank located inside of ACME, 100 Suburban Drive, Newark. One of the bank tellers, a 25-year-old female, reported that the suspect approached the counter, presented a note demanding money, and implied he was armed with a gun, according to Lt. Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the suspect then confronted a second teller, a 26-year-old male, and demanded money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and then fled ACME.

The suspect was described as a black male with a beard, mid-40’s, approximately 5’7’’ – 5’8’’, 175 – 200 pounds, wearing a hat with a towel underneath it, sunglasses, a black t-shirt, and jeans.

Breaking Release

Newark – Yesterday afternoon Newark Police officers responded to the Citizens Bank, in the Suburban Plaza ACME, for reports that the bank had been robbed.

Responding officers were seen questioning customers and employees of the bank as shoppers looked on.  The buzz inside the store was that someone slipped a teller a note but that has not been confirmed by police.
