Weekly Wilmington Shooting Report – Oct 9, 2017 – Oct 15, 2015

Sunday

On Sunday, 08 October 2017, at approximately 8:38pm, Wilmington Police responded to the 600 block of Concord Avenue for reports of gun fire.

Shortly thereafter, a 19-year-old man walked in to the Wilmington Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg. It is apparent that while walking home the victim heard several rounds of gunfire then realized that he had been struck in his left leg.

The male victim was treated for his injury by medical personnel and is in stable condition. (This incident was reported after last weeks report so we added it to this weeks report.)

Tuesday

On Tuesday, 10 October 2017, at approximately 8:03pm, Wilmington Police responded to the St. Francis Hospital regarding a 39-year-old man who walked in suffering from a minor graze wound to his left leg.

After speaking with the victim it was determined that the male victim was struck in the 100 block of N. Van Buren Street.

The victim was treated by medical personnel and at the time of the incident he was listed in stable condition.

Friday

Wilmington Police, along with New Castle County Paramedics responded to the 2000 block Bowers Street for reports of shots fired.

Arriving units found a 23-year-old male with a gun shot to the chest. The patient was transported to the trauma center.

Police also learned that a 36-year-old man had walked into Wilmington Hospital to be treated for a wound to his leg and graze wound to his arm.

Official did not indicate if the two incidents are connected.
