On Thursday, 9 November 2017, at approximately 12:13 am, Wilmington Police were summoned to the 500 block of S. Franklin Street regarding a person who had been shot, according to police.
Officials said upon their arrival, officers located an 18-year old male on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot to his head.
New Castle County paramedics treated the victim on scene, then he was transported via ambulance to the Christiana Hospital. Just before 1:00am the victim succumbed to his injury.
The male victim has been identified as JUSTIN MCDERMOTT, 18, of WILMINGTON.
This is an on-going investigation.
