Man Pistol Whipped In His Newark-Area Home, Gunfire

Newark – New Castle County Police are currently investigating a home invasion in the community of Sparrow Run, according to M/Cpl. Michel Eckerd.

Eckerd said yesterday, November 17, 2017, at about 5:56 p.m., New Castle County Police Patrol officers were called to the unit block of Teal Circle, Sparrow Run,  for a home invasion that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male victim who stated that a subject came in to his residence and struck him in the head with a handgun. One shot was then fired and the suspect fled. The victim later declined medical treatment.

No items were reported stolen.
