NBC News Chairman Andy Lack issued a statement this morning regarding the firing of the Today Show host, Matt Lauer.

The statement indicates that NBC received a detailed complaint from a colleague about “inappropriate sexual behavior” in the workplace by Matt Lauer.

Lack told his colleagues at NBC that the complaint represented a clear violation of NBC’s standards. “As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.”, said Lack.

Lack said this was the first complaint about Lauer’s behavior in the over twenty years he’s been at NBC News.

NBC host Savannah Guthrie announced Lauer’s firing on the air this morning.
