Police: 15-Year-Old Claymont Boy Arrested For Shooting Into Woman’s Home


Claymont – New Castle County Police Detectives have arrested a 15-year-old for shooting into an apartment in the Harbor House Apartment Complex, according to Master Corporal Heather Carter.

Carter said on Thursday,October 26, patrol officers were dispatched to the Harbor House apartment complex for the report of shots fired into an apartment. Police learned that the apartment was occupied by a 63-year-old female during the incident.

Members of the Evidence Detection Unit responded to Harbor House to process the scene. Detectives located several .32 caliber bullet casings, according to Carter.

Through the course of the investigation, New Castle County Detectives developed a 15-year-old male as a suspect. On Thursday,November 2, Safe Streets Task Force Detectives administered a search warrant at the 15-year-old’s residence in the unit block of Denham Ave and recovered a .32 caliber handgun, said Carter. He was taken into custody without incident.

The 15-year-old was charged with felony reckless endangering, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by prohibited juvenile. He was arraigned at New Castle County Family Court.
