Crash Leaves One Trapped, Three To Hospital

Bear – Yesterday, at approximately 2:30 pm, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Christiana Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Bear Christiana Road and Newtown Road for a motor vehicle, reported with entrapment, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found fire department personnel working to extricate a patient from the wreckage. Following approximately 12 minutes and upon extrication; the patient, a female in her 20’s, was evaluated for a complaint of hip pain. She was transported to Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Christiana Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. Two other patients were transported to the hospital for evaluation on ambulances from the Christiana Fire Company. All patients were stable at the time of transport.

The New Castle County Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.
