Morning Crash Knocks Out Power At Major Intersection

Newark –  Just after 7:30 this morning rescue crews, along with Delaware State Police (DSP) were dispatched to the intersection of Route 896 and Old Baltimore Pike for an accident involving a electrical arching.

The accident knocked out power to the traffic singles at the intersection. It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the accident. At approximately 10:15 am Aetna Fire Police and DSP turned the scene over to DelDOT.

Old Baltimore Pike (OBP) traffic is forced to turn onto Route 896 in both directions. Route 896 traffic is being directed through the intersection but can’t turn onto OBP across traffic.

Expect delays in the area.
