Newark – Just before 6:00 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, officers with the New Castle County Police discovered an injured man in the area of Freedom Road and 76th Street, in the neighborhood of Valley Wood.
Reports from the scene indicate that the man was suffering from an unknown medical problem. Moments later radio reports indicated that police believed that the man may have been shot. Rescue crews from the Christiana Fire Company and New Castle County Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the man to the hospital in critical condition.
Officials later identified the man as 31-year-old Anthony Phippin, of the 3300 block of Stone Place Blvd in Newark.
Later in the afternoon, on November 28th, the New Castle County Police released a statement indicating that the exact cause and nature of Phippin’s injuries were being further investigated.
This morning , December 1, 2017 New Castle County Police has informed First State Update that Anthony Phippin succumbed to his injuries on November 28th.
Adding that investigators are now investigating this incident as a suspicious death.
Some on social media have stated what they think happened to Phippin, but police have release few clues as to what they believe may have happen.
Avoid the area of Freedom RD and 76th ST.
