Police Say Woman Stabbed Her Boyfriend On Christmas Morning

Delaware City – A 25-year-old Delaware City woman was arrested and charged with stabbing her boyfriend during altercation that occurred at her residence early Christmas morning, according to Delaware City Police Chief David Baylor.

Baylor said Colleen K. Floyd, 25, of the 400 block of Adams Street, Delaware City was taken into custody without incident at her residence Christmas morning. Delaware City Police apprehended Ms. Floyd after it was learned that she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, according to Baylor.

An investigation revealed that Floyd and her boyfriend, Jayson Armstrong became involved in an argument around 12:50 a.m. Christmas morning at her residence, according to Baylor. The domestic argument became physical at which time, Floyd allegedly stabbed Armstrong with a sharp instrument, said Baylor. Prior to the arrival of responding officers, Armstrong left the residence in a private vehicle, according to Baylor. Armstrong was taken into custody at his residence without incident by Delaware City and New Castle County Police officers. Due to the nature of his injuries, he was transported to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room by a Delaware City Fire Company Ambulance. He was treated and later released.

Colleen Floyd was charged with one count of assault in the second degree (a felony) , possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony(a felony) and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. She was video arraigned and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in lieu of $4,000.00 secured bond. Jayson G. Armstrong, 34, of the 100 block of Clark Circle, Delaware City, was charged with one count of assault in the third degree (a misdemeanor) and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. He was video arraigned and released on $2,000.00 secured bond.
