Troopers Investigating Armed Home Invasion In Stanton

Stanton – Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion robbery involving two suspects, one of which was armed with a handgun, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 2:06 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at an address, in the 500 block of Main Street, Stanton. A 53-year-old, male occupant, answered a knock at the door, at which time two suspects, one of them armed with a handgun, knocked him to the ground, and gained access to the residence., according to Austin.

The first suspect, who was armed, began asking the whereabouts of a female subject, who he claimed owed him money. The victim advised that there was no one by that name currently at, or in any way associated with the residence. The suspects then moved throughout the residence, coming upon three other occupants who were asleep in different rooms. These occupants included a 34-year-old female, a 55-year-old male, and a 9-year-old male. As the suspects moved from room to room, they took possession of an undisclosed amount of cash, along with one cell phone, before fleeing. None of the victims were injured as a result of the incident.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 5’11”, wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored ski mask, armed with a small, black handgun, according to Austin.

Suspect #2 was described as a white male, 6’2”, thin build, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and a white mask.
