Just In: Pedestrian Struck Near Talleyville, To Trauma By Air

Wilmington –  Just after 7:30 this evening rescue crews from the Claymont Fire Company, along with Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to the area of Marsh Road and Avery Lane for reports of a pedestrian struck.

Upon arrival, crews found the patient lodged in the windshield of the striking vehicle. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle was traveling at approximately 40 mph when the patient was struck.

Crews worked for approximately 20 minutes to cut the patient from the vehicle. The patient was transported by ambulance to the area of Marsh and Naaman’s Road where they were transferred to Trooper 4. The patient was then flown to Christiana Hospital with a trauma alert called.
