Spa Robbed At Gunpoint In Bear

Bear – Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Bear area spa that occurred last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Tai Chi Spa, located at 1231 Quintilio Drive, Bear. A white male suspect approached a 60-year-old female employee inside the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register, according to Austin. The employee complied with the demand by turning over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male with a full beard, 30-35 years of age, 5’8”-5’10”, 160-180 lbs., wearing a dark jacket, sunglasses and in possession of a black handgun.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Troop 2 Robbery Unit at 302-365-8566.
