Milton- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred last evening in the Milton area, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.
Jaffe said the preliminary investigation has determined that the incident was reported at approximately 8:08 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018, when Troopers were dispatched to a local area hospital in reference to a reported shooting.
The incident was reported to the State Police by the Hospital Emergency Section Staff. The incident is alleged to have occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., when the victim was walking on the roadway in the area of Fisher Road and Hudson Road and sustained a single gunshot wound to his lower extremity, according to Jaffe. The victim, a 23-year-old male of Milton was transported to a local area hospital by a personal vehicle where Detectives made contact with him, and he was treated and later released.
The suspect was described as a black male approximately 6’00” tall, 180 lbs., with a full beard, wearing a dark colored hoodie, blue jeans, and driving a black 4-door passenger car.
