Possible Head-On Collision In Newark-Area, Injuries Reported

Newark – Just after 1:00 this afternoon rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with Delaware State Police and UD1 (University of Delaware’s Ambulance) responded to the intersection of E. Chestnut Hill Road (Route 4) and Brennen Drive for reports of a motor vehicle crash.

As units were responding to the accident additional callers were reporting that a person was trapped in their vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles with heavy damage and multiple patients in need of care.

Early reports indicate that four ambulances were dispatched to the scene. No information regarding the number of patients transported or the patient’s conditions is available at this time.

Troopers remain on scene as they investigate.
