Collins Park – At approximately 1:40 this afternoon rescue crews from the Holloway Terrace Fire Company, along with the Delaware State Police responded the intersection or Route 9 and May Avenue for reports of a vehicle into a utility pole.
As fire crews responded to the scene they were alerted that the vehicle had rolled over and the driver was trapped in the car, with wires down in the roadway. As Delaware State Police were responding dispatch told Troopers that the driver was trapped and the car was on fire.
Upon arrival, fire crews reported that the driver was not trapped. Additionally, it doesn’t look like the car was on fire either.
It’s unclear if the driver was injured in the accident.
Route 9 was closed in both directions for a little over an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.
