Camden Wyoming – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Camden Wyoming man following an investigation into an alleged sexual abuse complaint, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.
Jaffe said the investigation began on December 19, 2017, when Troop 3 Major Crimes Unit received information through a Division of Family Services’ (DFS) 24 hour hotline that a 14-year-old female had reported allegations of sexual abuse. The hotline report indicated that the victim had been impregnated by an adult male, according to Jaffe.
Through further investigations, it was confirmed that the 14-year-old victim was pregnant, said Jaffe. The teen told Detectives that the father of the child was 34-year-old Byron P. White of Camden Wyoming, according to Jaffe.
The incidences were reported to have occurred at White’s residence located in the 3000 block of Henry Cowgill Road, beginning in May of 2017, according to Jaffe.
The investigation revealed that White was a United States Air Force Reservist and was serving on orders at Dover Air Force Base (DAFB). An arrest warrant was obtained for White in which he was subsequently taken into custody at DAFB on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. White was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with 9 counts of Rape 3rd and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. He was arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $200,000.00 secured bond.
