Update: Juvenile Charged With First Degree Murder In Middletown Held On $160K Cash Bail

Middletown  – On February 2/18/2018 at approximately 8:30 pm the Middletown Police Department responded to the area of the 500 block of New Street for a report of a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Middletown Police Chief  Michael Iglio.

Iglio said investigation revealed that a juvenile male shot an adult male in the upper torso after having an altercation that took place in the roadway. The adult male victim was transported to Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by hospital medical personnel.

The juvenile male was arrested and charged with Murder in the first degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.  The defendant was arraigned in New Castle Family Court
and is being held on a $160K cash bail.

Breaking Report

Middletown  – Rescue crews, along with Middletown Police are rushing to the 5oo Block of New Street for reports of a shooting. Early reports indicate that the victim is receiving CPR.

Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) has been canceled by command. The patient is being rushed to Christiana Hospital with a trauma alert.

Update: It’s believed that the patient has succumbed to their injuries and that Middletown Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
