Dover – The Dover Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a body was found in Silver Lake on Tuesday afternoon, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.
Hoffman said at approximately 1:09 pm, officers were called to an area of Silver Lake at the rear of Lakeview Drive for a body that was found in the water. Responding officers located a black male subject in the water. A forensic investigator from the Office of the Medical Examiner took custody of the body. Positive identification and cause of death are pending the medical examiner’s report.
Back on November 21, 2017 a Kayaker found the body of Anthony McDonald, 39, of Dover, in the same lake, just after 1:00 pm. Although Hoffman refused to confirm it at the time, it’s believed that McDonald was wanted by the Delaware State Police (DSP) in connection with a 2015 homicide out of Magnolia, Delaware.
