Two Dover Kids Arrested On Gun Charges

 

Dover – The Dover Police Department arrested two juveniles on firearms and gang participation on Tuesday afternoon, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer. Hoffman said at approximately 2:05 pm on February 27th, officers from the Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole stopped a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old when leaving residences on Stevenson Drive. One of the teens was wanted on a Violation of Probation for a previous weapons charge.

The 17-year-old was arrested without incident. The 14-year-old was found in possession of a loaded .380 handgun and arrested without incident. During the investigation, officers learned that the 17-year-old had also previously possessed the gun, according to Hoffman.

Both suspects were charged with Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited, Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony, Illegal Gang Participation and Conspiracy 2nd Degree.

The 14-year-old was also charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
